EnergoPet was founded in 1997 with both domestic and foreign capital investments. The intention of the founders was to build a PET production factory that would serve the domestic market and remove the need for the import of PET preforms.

The factory initially had a capacity of about 70,000,000 units per year and a product line that enabled the manufacture of 1,5 and 0,5 L PET bottles, which accommodated needs of the market at that time. Today, the factory has a capacity of about 600,000,000 units per year, making it the absolute leader in the Balkans region and the supplier to all major producers of mineral water and beverages in the region. EnergoPet currently satisfies the needs of about 40% of the domestic market and its market share is continuously growing.
